Rifle Fails During Suicide Attempt

I know a guy who tried to shoot himself with one in Deepcut Barracks years ago, the weapon didn't fire and he had to spend the rest of night on guard duty knowing his rifle didn't work and he couldn't report the fault...

A military technology presenter sits behind a large rifle while a comment describes a soldier whose rifle failed when he tried to shoot himself at Deepcut Barracks. The dark punchline is that he then had to spend the night on guard duty with a malfunctioning weapon, unable to report the problem because doing so would reveal what he had attempted. It is shared as a grim, absurd reaction to unreliable equipment or catastrophic bad luck.
