Epicurus Meets the Hydraulic Press

Text on the meme

Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist -Epicurus

What it means

A small blue toy character stands beneath a hydraulic press as the video gradually darkens and the press crushes it. The Epicurus quote about death becomes darkly ironic: the character is visibly destroyed while insisting that death does not concern us, amplified by Yugo Kanno’s solemn, melancholic song “Chinkouka.”
