They Asked for a Reference

Text on the meme

WOW... They asked for... They asked me to sc... umm... for reference... A SPOTIFY ORIGINAL HIDEO KOJIMA BRAIN STRUCTURE A SPOTIFY ORIGINAL PODCAST EL SECRETO DE LA HUMANIDAD

What it means

A video montage shows a gamer aiming at a person’s feet, a woman and man reacting awkwardly, and increasingly surreal references to Hideo Kojima, ending on a giant Spotify billboard featuring him. The captions build a joke about being asked to “sc...” something and desperately searching for a reference, while Donna Burke’s dramatic song “Sins of the Father” makes the trivial awkward moment feel absurdly epic and ominous.
