A woman angrily imagines calling the police, animal rights groups, and cartoonist Jim Davis while a man appears to punish a distressed orange dog on the floor. The joke is that the dog’s mistreatment is treated as an outrage so severe that the characters threaten to have the dog written out of the comic, parodying exaggerated animal-rights indignation and breaking the fourth wall.
