Don't Trust the Government

What it means

A woman energetically jumps down the steps of a garden shed, then the camera catches her black shoe and foot after she trips or falls. A handwritten card reveals the punchline: “Don’t Trust the Government,” turning an ordinary mishap into an absurd conspiracy-themed reaction. The clip is set to Gina Luciani’s whimsical instrumental rendition of “Married Life” from Up, whose cheerful, nostalgic mood makes the sudden fall and deadpan message even funnier.
