Teenage Crush on Queen Tamar
I have something to confess and seek help for. History / ისტორია On 27 May 2023, at the age of 15, I was browsing Wikipedia in order to learn more about history, when I learned Georgia was once ruled by a king named Tamar. I immediately wanted to read more about Tamar, and became increasingly obsessed over the following months. By December 2023, I unironically had a crush on her in spite of her being a saint and deceased, leading to online arguments and flame wars due to my absolute lack of a filter. Three Georgians I knew online blocked me due to the Tamar obsession, as they were sick of seeing posts about her. Now, at the age of 16, I feel handicapped by the fact time travel does not exist, and want a way out of this ridiculous situation. I am a Brazilian with no relation to the Caucasus, my country did not exist for 320 years after Tamar's death, and I acknowledge liking her this much does not make any logical or personal sense in the twenty first century. Getting psychiatric treatment or getting a Georgian girl to roleplay as Tamar are out of the question, as I do not want to expose such a ridiculous concept to people I know personally, much less sexualize a saint. Can you guys help?
A fictional confession describes a Brazilian teenager becoming obsessively attracted to Tamar, the medieval Georgian queen and saint, after discovering her on Wikipedia. The absurdity comes from the impossible historical gap, the intense parasocial crush, and the narrator’s refusal to consider either therapy or a modern roleplay solution. It is shared as an ironic reaction to an bizarre, overly specific obsession.
