Thanos on Performance-Enhancing Drugs
The United States and Australia appear to lead the world in terms of the number of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) granted to their athletes, analysis by The Sports Integrity Initiative has revealed. In its 2015 Annual Report, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) reported that the number of TUEs entered into its Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) increased 30% to 1,330 during 2015. Of this total, 63% (839) came from just three countries – the US, Australia and France. Figures were ANTI-DOPING TESTING FIGURES IN SELECTED COUNTRIES Country Samples tested % of doping violations India 3,865 3.2% South Africa 2,033 2.9% Kazakhstan 2,174 1.9% Mexico 2,252 1.4% US 6,782 1.2% Canada 3,846 1.1% Russia 10,186 0.8% Germany 13,653 0.3% Japan 5,706 0.2% China 19,228 0.2% FIBROMYALGIA tramadol reduce pain and injury recovery time ASTHMA salbutamol improve breathing efficiency and oxygen uptake DIABETES insulin increase metabolism and energy, anabolic effect ADHD amphetamines enhance focus, alertness, and energy levels ANEMIA Erythropoietin increased red blood cell count, enhancing oxygen delivery
EN: Thanos is shown as a stern athlete wearing a blue hat with American flags and holding the Infinity Gauntlet. Medical drugs and conditions for which athletes may receive therapeutic-use exemptions are overlaid on the image, alongside doping-violation statistics and an article about TUEs. The joke is that Thanos has supposedly collected not the Infinity Stones, but a set of banned or controversial performance-enhancing drugs; it is shared as an absurd reaction to doping and athletes’ excuses.
