The problem of the ending is how Deku gave up on being a hero until his friends gave him a handout. It means that Deku learned NOTHING throughout the series. Fundamentally, he's the SAME FUCKING PERSON FROM CHAPTER 1. An utter loser who won't even TRY unless someone hands him an overpowered boon to aid him on his journey. Chapter 1 Deku wants to be a hero but he doesn't work out, or take up a martial art, or work on improving his reflexes. Epilouge Deku wants to be a hero but he doesn't work out, or take up a martial art, or work on improving his reflexes, or work on utilizing his numerous connections (such as the tech genius), or work becoming a cop / firefighter / rescue worker In both cases, Deku WAITS for someone to hand his dream on a fucking silver platter. If this kid isn't guaranteed greatness (and on easy mode at that), he won't even TRY
