I AM BECOME DEATH, MR. TRUMAN

What it means

A distressed J. Robert Oppenheimer in a wide-brimmed hat angrily faces a serious-looking Harry S. Truman in a split-screen black-and-white film still. The caption parodies Oppenheimer’s famous quote and imagines him dramatically announcing the atomic bomb’s destructive power to Truman, making it useful as an absurd reaction to something catastrophically consequential.
