Cyclops Wants to Be Young

Text on the meme

genie: so what's your first wish? cyclops:

What it means

A tuxedoed one-eyed “cyclops” stands onstage, nervously adjusting his collar before the clip cuts to a live band performance and the singer launching into the chorus. The joke is that the cyclops’s first wish is apparently to become young—or to sing “We Are Young”—using the song by Fun. featuring Janelle Monáe as the punchline. The upbeat indie-pop anthem and its energetic performance make the absurd wish feel dramatically over-the-top, fitting a reaction about wanting youth, freedom, or a sudden emotional release.
