Watching grandpas old ‘Nam tapes

What it means

A grainy CRT television shows an older man in military clothing laughing while the caption says someone is watching their grandpa’s old Vietnam tapes. The joke treats the footage as if it were hilariously entertaining, using an exaggerated reaction to reference stereotypical war stories and old home videos.
