Merry Christmas Pippin Christmas

What it means

A two-panel reaction meme shows Gandalf smiling above Saruman’s stern face, with the captions “Merry Christmas” and “Pippin Christmas.” The joke is a playful Lord of the Rings wordplay, replacing “Merry” with “Pippin” as a festive greeting for fans of the hobbits. It is used as a holiday reaction, especially among Tolkien fans.
