The Middle Ages in Movies
The Middle Ages The Middle Ages in movies
A two-panel comparison shows a brightly dressed, cheerful man on the left and a dark, brooding man sitting against a wall on the right. The joke contrasts the colorful, carefree popular image of the Middle Ages with the grim, bleak way medieval life is portrayed in movies. It is used as a reaction to exaggerated differences between historical reality and cinematic aesthetics.
