What it means

A garden gnome is revealed to conceal the components of a thermonuclear weapon inside his oversized red hat. As Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” builds into its dramatic southern-rock climax, the clip ends with a huge explosion, turning an ordinary lawn ornament into an absurd doomsday device. The joke works as an over-the-top reaction to something escalating wildly beyond expectations.
