The Indomitable Human Spirit

Snail in my ear telling me that I will be ok and loved me listening Don’t let a bad day distract you from how far you’ve gotten The devil watching you get up and keep going after you’ve reached the deepest point of your life Me waking up with the absolute certainty that things will get better The indomitable human spirit the indifferent cruelty of the universe The indomitable human spirit

A dramatic montage pairs motivational captions with clips of Ryan Gosling listening thoughtfully, a man encouraging himself, shocked commentators, a cheerful newspaper reader, a frightened woman, and a Terminator-like figure emerging from the darkness. The joke is that grand optimism about human resilience is repeatedly undercut by the indifferent cruelty of the universe, while Tchaikovsky’s bombastic piano concerto makes the contrast feel absurdly epic. It works as a reaction to overly inspirational posts or situations where hope survives despite everything going wrong.
