Liberals Then and Now

Text on the meme

Liberals then Liberals now

What it means

A split-panel meme contrasts two women in a sunny meadow, one playing guitar, with a black-and-white image of a suited man wearing sunglasses and gesturing dramatically. The joke sarcastically portrays liberals as having changed from carefree hippies into stern, theatrical political figures. It is used as a reaction to commentary about ideological or political transformation over time.
