Don't Cry, I Am Just a Fish

dont cry I am Just a FISH

A black-and-white animated anime-style drawing shows a crying nurse-like character on the left while a small explorer points at a fish swimming above them. The fish repeatedly passes over the words “dont cry / I am Just a / FISH,” creating an absurd visual pun: the emotional reassurance is delivered by a literal fish. The clip uses Surf Curse’s “Freaks,” whose dreamy, melancholic indie rock mood makes the fish’s needless sadness and dramatic reassurance funnier.
