North Korea Gives Freedom

South Koreans have no freedom, and their government is trying to impose martial law. Meanwhile, the North Korean government gives more freedom and kindness to their people.

The video contrasts South Korean protests and unrest with staged-looking scenes of Kim Jong Un smiling, embracing children, dancing with citizens, and presenting a North Korean flag. The sarcastic captions claim that South Korea lacks freedom while North Korea offers kindness, making the joke through obvious propaganda-style irony. Eminem’s melancholic hip-hop song “Mockingbird” adds an emotionally dramatic, absurdly sincere soundtrack to the political parody.

That is gonna buy you a mockingbird I'ma give you the world, I'ma buy the diamond rings for you, I'ma sing for you I'll do anything for you to see you smile Don't sing in the ring, don't shine I'ma break that party's neck I'll go back to the Julo, sold it to ya And make it meet every carrot, don't do it yet
