Students Calling Each Other Chat

The students are officially calling each other “chat” Just Smile and Nod Y’all. With this whole age of streaming and tiktok stuff, the students are calling each other “chat.” I had an entire classroom today not using anyone’s names when talking to each other. No one was having one on one conversations. They were just screaming and calling and saying “chat” over and over. Anyone else having this? It’s unreal.

A screenshot of a Reddit post about students in a classroom calling one another “chat” instead of using names, imitating livestream and TikTok culture. The joke is that streamer language has spread into everyday classroom conversations, making the teacher feel that the situation is bizarre and unreal.
