The End of the World Again
t's so over." "The earth is degenerating today. Bribery and corruption abound. Children no longer obey their parents, every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching." - Assyrian tablet, c. 2800 BC
A humorous meme contrasts a dramatic “it’s so over” reaction with an ancient clay tablet supposedly lamenting corruption, disobedient children, and the approaching end of the world. The joke is that people have complained about societal decline for thousands of years, so modern panic is nothing new. It is sent as a reaction to doomposting, generational complaints, or exaggerated claims that the world is collapsing.
