Text on the meme

10 years ago, today, a horrible blight was released upon the world and we still have not recovered from it happy birthday OP

What it means

An imageboard post shows a dark, monstrous figure beneath the caption “10 years ago, today, a horrible blight was released upon the world and we still have not recovered from it.” A reply simply says “happy birthday OP,” turning the ominous anniversary into a grimly humorous birthday message for the original poster. It is used as a reaction to jokingly describe a hated game, event, or cultural release as a catastrophe.
