NEWS 'Anus-eating' virus that kills 30% of people is spreading – 'something has happened' Experts have admitted that they currently do not know why the number of cases has risen so much so far this year, which commentators note has "made people sit up and notice" BY HARRY THOMPSON 12:40, 21 MAR 2024 UPDATED 12:44, 21 MAR 2024

What it means

A fake news article claims that an “anus-eating” virus killing 30% of people is spreading, while experts supposedly cannot explain the rise in cases. The joke relies on the shocking absurdity of the headline and the deliberately sensational news style, making it useful as a reaction to bizarre or unbelievable situations.
