Excited for the Radium Factory Job
US RADIUM oh golly, I can't wait to start my new job at the watch dial factory in 1920's America.
An anime-style young woman smiles outside the US Radium factory, cheerfully anticipating her new job painting watch dials in 1920s America. The joke comes from the tragic history of the Radium Girls, who suffered severe radiation poisoning from working with radium paint. It is used as a darkly ironic reaction to someone being excited about an obviously dangerous opportunity.
