Barbie Girl Song Denied
Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl’ song will not be used in Greta Gerwig’s ‘BARBIE’. (Source: variety.com/2022/film/news...)
A cheerful clip of Barbie in a bright pink setting is paired with a distressed man who gradually appears horrified before being engulfed in an explosion. The joke is that hearing the iconic “Barbie Girl” song will not be part of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, treating the decision as a devastating catastrophe. The upbeat pop music contrasts with the man’s escalating panic and explosive reaction, making the news feel absurdly tragic.
