Evangelion References in the Bible
THERE ARE SO MANY EVANGELION REFERENCES IN THE BIBLE
A wide-eyed Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion stares intensely at the viewer beneath the caption “THERE ARE SO MANY EVANGELION REFERENCES IN THE BIBLE.” The joke humorously treats biblical stories and imagery as if they were references to Evangelion, exaggerating the fan’s excitement and conspiratorial realization. It is used as an absurd reaction to noticing similarities between religious imagery and anime symbolism.
