This Economy Got Us All

this economy got us all

What it means

A black-and-white cat hungrily eats a pepperoni pizza from a battered box while the caption says “this economy got us all.” The joke compares the cat eating scraps and destroying the pizza with people being driven to desperate, low-budget behavior by economic hardship. The clip is set to MixAndMash’s “Buttercup,” whose upbeat, playful music makes the cat’s frantic eating even more absurd and works as a humorous reaction to inflation or financial struggle.
