What Gooning Used to Mean

i remember what gooning used to mean FOR THOSE ABOUT TO GOON I SALUTE YOU THANK YOU FOR SERVICING

A militarized, grim-looking SpongeBob and Patrick stand beneath a helicopter and aircraft imagery, while a vintage-style poster below reads “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO GOON I SALUTE YOU” and “THANK YOU FOR SERVICING.” The joke contrasts the older meaning of “goon” as a tough soldier or thug with its modern internet slang meaning, creating an absurd military reaction meme. It is sent when joking about outdated definitions, suggestive slang, or exaggerated warrior behavior.
