Police Release Suspect Avatar

Text on the meme

Police have released this image of the suspect. Police investigating first case of girl's virtual gang rape in metaverse trib.al/YMvyXHr

What it means

A social media post presents a goofy 3D avatar as the suspect in a serious news story about a virtual crime in the metaverse. The joke comes from the absurd contrast between the dramatic headline and the cartoonish, obviously unhelpful suspect image, making it useful as a reaction to bizarre online news or virtual-world scandals.
