First Monday of the Year
What a week, huh? Ms. Misato, it's the first Monday of the year.
Misato Katsuragi stumbles through the doorway looking exhausted, while Shinji and Pen Pen point out that it is only the first Monday of the year. The joke exaggerates the feeling that the week has already been unbearably long, making it a reaction to early-week exhaustion and dread.
