That Movie I Stopped Watching

That movie that I stopped watching after a minutes because it was boring: BELLADONNA OF SADNESS THE GRAVE OF FIREFLIES 天使のたまご THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON ANIME. Paprika NINJA SCROLL MEMORIES AKIRA PERFECT BLUE THE END OF EVANGELION GHOST IN THE SHELL MARDOCK SCRAMBLE THE FIRST COMPESSION Tokyo Godfathers COWBOY BEBOP THE MOVIE

A meme shows the caption “That movie that I stopped watching after a minutes because it was boring:” above a collage of acclaimed, visually intense anime films. The joke is that someone claims to have stopped watching almost immediately, despite presenting a collection of famous and highly regarded anime movies, making the excuse obviously absurd. It is sent as a sarcastic reaction to something being called boring when it is actually sophisticated or difficult to appreciate.
