Pay Phones Exist Everywhere

Excuse me. I'll just be crumbling into a pile of dust over here 💀💀💀💀💀 sorry if this is a silly question, but i've only seen pay phones in movies. did pay phones actually exist everywhere irl or is it used to create drama in films? why aren't there any?

A social media screenshot shows someone jokingly collapsing into dust after reading a sincere question about whether pay phones really existed everywhere or were mainly used as dramatic movie props. The joke is that the question reveals a generational or cultural gap, making the writer’s confusion about an ordinary piece of older technology hilariously dramatic.
