Only a Fed Would Know This
A mechanical typewriter is safer than any networked computer, but interestingly it still isn't ironclad. Each keystroke has a different audio signature which can be picked up from a great distance via cameras watching vibrations caused by the sound, or sensitive microphones listening. I'm sure there's a way to fuzz this by playing loud discordant noise while typing to obfuscate any audio leakage. It probably adds to the schizo atmosphere. Only a fed would know this
An imageboard screenshot shows one anonymous poster explaining how mechanical typewriter keystrokes could be identified through sound and vibrations, followed by the reply: “Only a fed would know this.” The joke is that the extremely specific surveillance knowledge makes the original poster sound like a government agent or informant, so the reply is used as a reaction to suspiciously detailed expertise.
