Delicate Gangnam Style Sculpture

Text on the meme

we walked by this sculpture and i really liked it like it looks so delicate for its scale and medium i was actually kind of in awe then i found out it was a statue made to commemorate gangnam style

What it means

A large bronze sculpture of oversized hands forming the signature pose from “Gangnam Style” stands in an urban plaza. The joke is the contrast between the viewer’s sincere admiration of the sculpture’s delicate artistic quality and the realization that it commemorates a humorous pop song and dance. It is used as a reaction to moments when something unexpectedly turns out to be much less sophisticated than it first appeared.
