Metal Gear? Metal Gear Rising

A black gear sits on a plain background as the caption changes from “Metal Gear?” to “Metal Gear Rising,” then the gear appears to rise or recede dramatically while the screen fades out. The joke parodies the title Metal Gear Rising by treating an ordinary metal gear as if it were the video game’s heroic reveal, made increasingly absurd by the dramatic music. Jimmy Gnecco’s “It Has To Be This Way (Platinum Mix)” gives the tiny gear an epic, emotional soundtrack, making the anticlimax funnier.
