Love Is in the Air? Wrong!
LOVE IS IN THE AIR? WRONG! methyl isocyanate
Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory stares at the camera above images of a chemical plant and a mass-casualty scene. The joke twists the romantic phrase “love is in the air” into a dark chemistry reference: the air contains toxic methyl isocyanate, evoking the Bhopal disaster. It is used as an absurd, morbid reaction to polluted air or a dangerously unromantic situation.
