Merciful Thoughts in Bed

I bet he’s thinking about other women At any point during a car journey I could steer into oncoming traffic and killed us all. Am I not merciful?!

A couple lies in bed, with the woman assuming the man is thinking about other women. In reality, he is imagining steering their car into oncoming traffic and killing them both, calling himself merciful; the joke contrasts ordinary relationship anxiety with an absurdly dark thought.
