Atlanta Interchange Compared to Florence

THIS INTERCHANGE IN ATLANTA, USA TAKES UP THE SAME SPACE AS THE ENTIRE CITY OF FLORENCE, ITALY Is this supposed to be a bad thing? It only shows how overcrowded and small Florence is compared to the grandeur of American cities

An infographic compares an interchange in Atlanta with the entire city of Florence, showing that they occupy roughly the same area. A reply sarcastically argues that this is not a criticism of Atlanta, but proof that Florence is overcrowded and tiny compared with the grandeur of American cities. The meme is used to mock exaggerated American-city exceptionalism and defensive reactions to comparisons with Europe.
