Minions Block 911 Calls

In 2013, The Minions became a topic fraught with controversy when it was discovered that dialing 911 with the game Minion Rush installed on your phone would play a voice clip of the siren minion from the movie instead of putting you through to an operator. This reportedly led to over 14 thousand deaths across the US before a patch was released which removed the Easter egg. - Calls to 911 will no longer trigger a minion voice clip instead of putting the caller through to the appropriate emergency operator.

A fake social media post claims that the Minion Rush game intercepted 911 calls and played a Minion voice clip instead of connecting callers to emergency operators, allegedly causing thousands of deaths. The punchline is the absurdly dark and fabricated news story, presented with a serious tone and a follow-up patch note to make the joke seem believable.
