Text on the meme

My grandparents immigrating from Europe to avoid poverty and fascism Me immigrating to Europe to avoid poverty and fascism in America

What it means

A two-panel image shows two people sitting in vintage cars, with captions comparing a grandparent generation leaving Europe and the speaker moving to Europe from America. The joke is the ironic repetition of fleeing poverty and fascism, suggesting that political conditions have come full circle.
