The Softest and Toughest Fans

Text on the meme

THE SOFTEST FAN Hello Kitty THE TOUGHEST FAN BERSERK

What it means

A split-panel meme contrasts the softest fan, represented by Hello Kitty and a fashionable anime girl, with the toughest fan, represented by Berserk and a distressed anime character bowing on the floor. The joke exaggerates the contrast between cute fandom and the supposedly intense, emotionally devastating Berserk fandom. It is used as a reaction to compare harmless interests with extremely dark or hardcore ones.
