Roman Emperors Through the Ages

Commodus Commodus Julius Caesar Augustus Trajan Titus Nerva Hadrian

EN: Set to Vangelis’s “Conquest of Paradise,” the video cycles through depictions of Roman rulers: first a marble bust of Commodus, followed by stylized faces of Commodus, Julius Caesar, Augustus, Trajan, Titus, Nerva, and Hadrian. The grand symphonic music gives the simple montage an epic scale, as if it were a glorious history of Rome, while the faces look slightly uncanny, AI-generated reconstructions.
