Irony Hiding Real Beliefs
“Hey bro can you stop doing the thing where you obscure your real beliefs under a bunch of irony? I have autism and I can’t pick up on when you’re being serious”
A black-and-white portrait of a young man wearing glasses appears beneath a message asking someone to stop hiding their real beliefs behind irony because the speaker cannot tell when they are serious. The joke is about the confusion caused by ironic internet communication and the difficulty of interpreting sarcasm literally; the image is sent as a self-aware reaction to ambiguous, overly ironic behavior.
