Only One Kitten Shall Live

Only one shall live

What it means

A fluffy kitten in a blue outfit wrestles and pins another kitten on a pink bedspread while two more kittens watch from behind a purple basket. The melodramatic “Only one shall live” caption turns harmless kitten play-fighting into an absurd life-or-death battle, made even funnier by the solemn, tragic sound of “Requiem in D Minor, K. 626: VIII. Lacrimosa” by Pamela Heuvelmans, Barbara Werner, Robert Morvaj, Thomas Pfeiffer, Chamber Choir of Europe, Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim & Nicol Matt. The classical requiem’s mournful intensity exaggerates the tiny cats’ wrestling and makes the clip work as an overdramatic reaction to a silly rivalry.
