A hand holds a fake-looking U.S. Coast Guard letter addressed to Alan, announcing in blunt, formal language that his uncle has drowned and that the body was found in the Atlantic Ocean. The absurdly direct notification, staged deceased-person photo, and condolences create dark humor, so the image is sent as a reaction to shocking or catastrophically bad news.
