Brother Like Black People Use It

Rufus, Brint and Meekus were like brothers to me. And when I say brother, I don't mean like an actual brother, but I mean it like the way black people use it,

Ben Stiller’s character stands in front of three coffins at a funeral and explains that Rufus, Brint, and Meekus were “like brothers” to him. The punchline is his awkward clarification that he means “brother” in the way Black people use the word, making the reaction useful for joking about an overly literal or socially awkward explanation.
