What it means

A split meme shows Sakamoto Ryoma from Like a Dragon: Ishin! greeting Tom Cruise on Twitter, followed by Tom Cruise replying with the same greeting. The joke is the absurdly polite exchange between a fictional samurai and a real Hollywood actor, used as a reaction to unexpectedly matching someone’s energy.
