I Do Not Relate to Patrick Bateman

Text on the meme

Actually, I do not relate to Patrick Bateman at all. I think that he is not a very nice person.

What it means

Patrick Bateman sits at a desk in front of a computer with energy drink cans, while a caption sarcastically claims not to relate to him and calls him unpleasant. The joke references the online tendency to identify with Bateman from American Psycho despite his murderous, narcissistic personality, making it a reaction to exaggerated self-awareness or ironic denial.
