AI Overview Invents Medieval Robots

Text on the meme

No, medieval wars were not fought by robots, but mechanical devices called automatons were used for other purposes: • Entertainment: At medieval dinner tables, automatons could play music, dispense wine, or crew ships. • Illustration: Manuscripts were illustrated with robots.

What it means

A screenshot of an AI Overview confidently explaining that medieval wars were not fought by robots while claiming that automatons played music, dispensed wine, crewed ships, and illustrated manuscripts. The joke is the absurdly specific AI-generated misinformation and the irony of correcting one false claim with more questionable claims.
