Medieval Garfield Bereavement Comic
MAY THE LORD BLESS THEE. AN HOUR PASSES THRICE. HARK! THINE BREAST ARE HEREUPON REDUCED! WHEREFORE IS GARFIELD THE GRIMALKIN ABSENT? WHOMST DOTH THEE BELIEVE CLAIMED THINE BURDEN? I AM BEREAVED!
A medieval-style four-panel comic shows a nun tending to a person in bed while a cat and another nun appear nearby. The archaic dialogue implies that Garfield, the absent cat, has taken the patient’s burden—then the final panel reveals the speaker is grieving Garfield’s absence. It is sent as an absurd reaction to missing someone or something unexpectedly.
