When You Wake Up

When you wake up (you are an entirely new consciousness with the same memories as your previous self, and will cease to exist at the end of the day, whereupon you will be replaced with the next version of you)

Patrick Bateman from American Psycho peels a transparent facial mask from his face. The caption presents waking up as becoming a new consciousness that inherits yesterday’s memories but will die and be replaced by tomorrow’s version, turning an ordinary morning into an absurd existential crisis. It is shared as a reaction to dissociation, identity confusion, or overthinking everyday life.
